Access Readiness Doctor helps Shopify merchants identify potential accessibility issues in their server-rendered storefront HTML for accessibility readiness planning. It runs a limited set of automated checks mapped to WCAG 2.1 AA success criteria. It is not legal advice, not an audit, and does not certify compliance with the EAA, ADA, WCAG, or any law. Automated tools cannot determine conformance; manual review is required.
Data we process
The app may process and store:
- shop domain and Shopify session data,
- scan metadata (status, timestamps, rule version, trigger, coverage manifest, and per-severity counts),
- findings: the page URL, page type, the check id and WCAG reference, a selector path, a short plain-language message and fix hint, and a truncated HTML snippet of at most 200 characters,
- subscription/plan state read from Shopify,
- an optional storefront password, stored encrypted at rest, used only transiently to reach a password-protected storefront during a scan.
The app requests only the read_products scope. It does not request or store customer data, order data, payment data, or storefront visitor data. It never stores full page HTML.
How we use data
We use this data to run read-only accessibility checks against your storefront pages, show findings grouped by severity, produce a CSV export, track scan history, and run a monthly rescan when you enable it.
Retention and deletion
The app keeps recent scans only: the last 3 scans on Free and the last 12 on Pro; older scans are pruned. When the app is uninstalled or Shopify sends a shop redact request, all app-side shop data is deleted.
