Service
Access Readiness Doctor runs a limited set of automated checks on your server-rendered storefront HTML, mapped to WCAG 2.1 AA success criteria, and returns a prioritized, plain-language list of potential accessibility issues and how to fix them, to help with accessibility readiness planning.
Important limits
- The app runs a limited set of automated checks and cannot determine conformance. Automated tools cannot determine conformance; manual review is required.
- It is not legal advice, not an audit, and does not certify compliance with the EAA, ADA, WCAG, or any law.
- It reads server-rendered HTML only. It does not execute JavaScript, so JavaScript-rendered UI (such as cart drawers, quick-add modals, predictive search, popups, some reviews, checkout, and customer account) and color contrast are not covered. Color contrast is a manual check the app does not evaluate.
- It is read-only and does not edit your store.
- The findings count is a readiness signal grouped by severity, not a pass/fail grade.
You are responsible for reviewing findings, deciding which apply to your store, correcting your storefront, performing manual accessibility review, and confirming your own obligations. Regulations such as the EAA raise the importance of accessibility; covered merchants selling to EU consumers may have accessibility obligations.
Data access
The app requests read-only access with the read_products scope only. It does not request order data, customer data, payment data, or write access.
Availability
We aim to keep the app available, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. Scans and scheduled rescans can be delayed by platform, network, or hosting issues.
